Activity: AABIP Diversity, Inclusion and Unity Committee - Committee Member

Term: 2 years

The AABIP Diversity, Inclusion and Unity Committee is actively seeking participation from members to assist in the advocating and implementing our organizational mission statement and policy to expand equal opportunities for our members, provide education, guidance and enduring topic specific materials and educational events. The purpose of this committee is to ensure equality of opportunity, diversity of viewpoint and inclusion of all genders and underrepresented minorities in all activities of the AABIP. URM (under-represented minorities) are those under-represented in science and medicine as defined by the National Science Foundation, including Women, Hispanics, African Americans, Native Americans, Native Pacific Islanders and Native people of Alaska and other Arctic regions, people with disabilities and any other category deemed under-represented by the AABIP. It is also to implement the roles and responsibilities of the DIU Committee.

Selection will be made by the AABIP Diversity, Inclusion and Unity Committee.

Description: 

The selected applicants will serve a 2-year term and participate in implementing the AABIP Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, create and curate topic specific educational materials related to diversity, inclusion, pipeline programs.

Position Requirements: 

Willingness to be innovative and creative! There will be task specific projects to implement diversity and inclusion throughout committees, symposia, education and training, as well as other aspects of the organization. Please specify if you have additional specific skillsets that might be helpful.
