Join Us in Shaping the Future of AABIP Communications
The Communications and Social Media Committee offers a unique opportunity to help shape how AABIP communicates with its members, trainees, colleagues, and the broader medical community.
We are looking for creative thinkers, effective communicators, digital innovators, educators, and engaged AABIP members who want to help tell the story of interventional pulmonology and the people who advance our field.
We encourage you to apply and help AABIP build the next generation of communication, engagement, and digital education.
Committee Overview

The American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) is seeking applications from engaged members interested in serving on the Communications and Social Media Committee

The Communications and Social Media Committee plays a central role in communicating the mission, activities, educational opportunities, scientific advances, and accomplishments of AABIP to its members and the broader interventional pulmonology community.

AABIP has an expanding portfolio of educational programs, professional resources, research initiatives, guidelines, certification activities, its annual conference, webinars, podcasts, fellow resources, and other member benefits. The Communications and Social Media Committee ensures that these resources are effectively communicated, accessible, engaging, and aligned with the strategic priorities of the Association. As a member of the Committee, together you help coordinate communications strategy across the AABIP website, social media platforms, email communications, video and audio channels, newsletters, and other digital platforms.

Committee Charge
The Communications and Social Media Committee is responsible for supporting and advancing AABIP's communications strategy, including:
  • Managing and developing content for the AABIP website.
  • Promoting AABIP educational programs, scientific initiatives, annual meetings, webinars, courses, and other activities.
  • Overseeing and expanding AABIP's social media presence and engagement.
  • Supporting the development and distribution of the AABIP In the Moment newsletter.
  • Developing creative and engaging digital content, including infographics, graphics, short-form videos, interviews, and educational highlights.
  • Disseminating important updates and accomplishments from AABIP committees and leadership to the membership.
  • Developing strategies to increase member engagement and participation in AABIP activities.
  • Promoting the accomplishments of AABIP members, fellows, educators, researchers, and other members of the interventional pulmonology community.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase AABIP's visibility and reach within interventional pulmonology, pulmonary and critical care medicine, thoracic surgery, oncology, respiratory therapy, advanced practice, nursing, and other relevant professional communities.
  • Using available analytics and member feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of AABIP communications and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborating with other AABIP committees and chapters to develop coordinated communications and promotional strategies.
  • Supporting AABIP marketing initiatives while maintaining the professional, educational, and scientific standards of the Association.

Applicants do not need to have expertise in all of these areas. AABIP is particularly interested in building a multidisciplinary committee with complementary skills and perspectives.

Membership and Diversity
AABIP encourages applications from physicians and non-physician members across the spectrum of interventional pulmonology and chest medicine, including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

We strongly encourage applications from individuals representing diverse professional backgrounds, career stages, geographic regions, practice settings, and perspectives.
