Activity: AABIP Journal Club Editor

Position Summary:

The AABIP Journal Club (JC) Editor will work closely with the Journal Club Editor-in-Chief to select and curate articles for Journal Club and Journal Watch. The Editor will manage monthly editorial assignments (typically 3–4 assignments per year) by coordinating with designated primary reviewers/authors and ensuring timely completion. In addition, the Editor will serve as primary author for 1–2 Journal Watch releases per year. This is a voluntary service position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Identify timely, high-impact journal articles relevant to AABIP members for Journal Club and Journal Watch.
• Coordinate with primary reviewers/authors to ensure materials are submitted by established deadlines.
• Participate in 4 meetings per year with the Editor-in-Chief and other Journal Club Editors.
• Recruit and mentor potential primary authors (e.g., trainees and junior faculty) for Journal Club assignments.
• Draft and submit 1–2 Journal Watch releases annually as primary author.
• Communicate regularly with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team to support workflow and quality.

Criteria for Selection:

• AABIP member in good standing
• Preference given to trainees and early career professionals with strong electronic communication skills
• Applicants must confirm their ability to commit time and effort to the responsibilities listed above
