Board Eligibility Application Review Committee or BEARC

The Board Eligibility Application Review Committee (BEARC) is a standing AABIP committee in charge of reviewing and vetting applications for the IP Board Certification Exam and the Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) Exam. BEARC is seeking driven and motivated members with an interest in serving its key mission of providing a reliable and thorough review of applications for IP board exam and other certificates.

Member’s responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing IP Board exam applications
  • Reviewing CAQ exam applications
  • Participate in the revision of exam eligibility criteria, when applicable
  • Participate in the development of eligibility criteria for new certificate exams, when applicable
Time commitment:
  • Application review: 1-2 hours/week (only during Fall season)
  • Meeting Frequency: Twice monthly during exam review season and quarterly thereafter

Term of Service: 2 years

Position Requirements:
  • Active AABIP membership
  • Current active committee members may seek to be reinstated for an additional 2 years, but no more
Application Materials:
  • Statement of interest (300-500 words) describing your engagement and the value you can bring to the committee.
