The American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) enhances the practice of bronchology and interventional pulmonology through research, education, and the development of clinical guidelines. The Guideline Oversight Committee (GOC) is essential in creating and upholding high-quality clinical guidelines that impact patient care throughout the field. The Guideline Oversight Committee of the AABIP Research Committee is requesting applications for the following positions:
- General Committee Member
- Senior Methodologist
- Junior Methodologist
Commitment: Variable (1-4 hours per week)
Deadline to apply: extended to August 3, 2024
Activity: AABIP Guideline Oversight Committee General Member
Term: 2 years
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate guideline proposals for scientific rigor, relevance and need.
- Maintain strict adherence to AABIP guideline development processes and standards.
- Engage in regular committee meetings to address and solve guideline development issues.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the guideline development process.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current AABIP member in good standing.
- Strong background in clinical research.
- Experience in developing, evaluating or implementing clinical practice guidelines.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to the responsibilities of committee membership.
Activity: AABIP Guideline Oversight Committee Senior Methodologist
Term: 2 years
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform all roles of a General Committee Member.
- Lead the methodological assessment of guideline proposals.
- Mentor, oversee and supervise junior methodologists.
- Design and conduct training for junior members on methodological issues.
- Provide expertise in systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, and guideline development methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current member with specialized training in epidemiology, biostatistics, or clinical research methodology.
- Experience in guideline development, systematic reviews, and evidence synthesis.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and mentorship skills.
- Prior experience in a similar role is highly preferred.
Activity: AABIP Guideline Oversight Committee Junior Methodologist
Term: 2 years
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs all roles of a General Committee Member.
- Assists in the methodological assessment of guideline proposals.
- Provides methodological support to selected guidelines under the supervision of senior methodologists.
- Participates in training to enhance methodological skills.
Qualifications:
- Must be a current AABIP member.
- Targeting fellows, APPs, and early career faculty (within 5 years of fellowship).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrable interest in guideline development and clinical research.
- Keen to learn and advance in physician methodology.
Criteria for Selection
- Relevant experience and expertise.
- Contributions to the field of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills in a committee setting.
- Commitment to AABIP’s mission and goals.
